Warwick Downing has been involved in metal 3D printing since 2008. He was part of the team that set up the first machine in NZ and continues to work extensively in the metal 3D printing arena. Warwick was one of the core members who established TIDA Limited (formerly the Titanium Industry Development Association) and led the new organisation from its inception until 2016.
In 2013 Warwick established Rapid Advanced Manufacturing Ltd (RAM3D) with a group of like-minded shareholders, to grow the commercial opportunities created by the growth of the metal 3D printing sector.
Over many years the team at RAM3D has developed a deep knowledge of the additive manufacturing powder bed technology and the requirements to repeatedly deliver for the aerospace, defence, marine, consumer and industrial markets.
We moved to our bespoke factory in Tauranga in October 2016 and offer one of the very few commercial SLM facilities in the Southern Hemisphere. Currently we operate seven metal laser printers.
We are a team of 7 staff, Warwick Downing, Chief Executive, Barry Robinson, Business Development Engineer, Philip Owen, Workshop Manager, Gilly Hawker, Marketing Manager/Sales Support, Ben Mark, Workshop Technician, Barnaby Hamer, Workshop Technician and Jennifer Daniel, Administrator/Sales Support.
