A record year for RAM3D, in 2024 we delivered 17,000+ 3D printed metal parts to customers around the world. Our top production materials in 2024:

Workshop Updates
Another year of increasing capacity with 2 more Renishaw metal 3D printers, on site in January & March 2024.
Although always keen to add to the Renishaw AM 400 machines in our fleet, the real excitement for the year was the commissioning of RAM3D’s first RenAM 500Q (Quad / 4 x 500W laser setup), which is already living up to its claims of “making cost-effective volume production a reality.”
2025 is on track continuing this trend of expansion (toward our “Factory of the Future” goal), with Machine #14 – another AM 400 – delivered already in January.

And we’ve added another Global Machine Tools / DN Solutions upgrade to the mix with a LYNX 2600Y Turning Center / Lathe (increasing our in-house machining capabilities after adding a DNM 5700 CNC Vertical Machining Center in 2023), just delivered at the end of February: Check it out on Linkedin
International Events
2024’s focus on overseas events supported our gains in international markets (especially USA, UK, Australia) particularly in the Aerospace industry:
March 2024 – SATELLITE Conference and Exhibition (SAT Show) in Washington DC, USA
- Connecting and uniting the satellite and space industries, including commercial markets benefiting from satellite technology and its applications.
April 2024 – Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, CO, USA
- The premier U.S. space policy and program forum, bringing together 10,000+ people and space leaders from more than 40 countries around the world to discuss, address, and plan for the future of space.
July 2024 – 17th Australian Space Forum in Adelaide, South Australia
- Supported by the Australian Space Agency and the South Australian Space Industry Centre, the Forum provides opportunity for industry, academia, and government to work together to expand activities and develop international relationships for ongoing success within the space community.
October 2024 – International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, Italy
- An annual event of space science plenary sessions, lectures and meetings, hosted each year by a different nation member of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF), and attended by agency heads and senior executives of the world’s space agencies.
Events in New Zealand
RAM3D was just as busy in 2024 with local and national events:
May 2024 – EMEX Exhibition in Auckland
- NZ’s largest industry-specific trade event for professionals in manufacturing, engineering, machinery, robotics, electronics and technology.
Always a big event for us – all of our workshop team got a chance to attend and walk through the exhibition over the course of the 3-day show. Plans for the next EMEX (in 2026) are already in the works – expect bigger and better!
August 2024 – Canvas Careers Expo in Tauranga
RAM3D on stand with other local Tauranga manufacturers & businesses: BlueLab, Hayes International, Oasis
Engineering, ShotDarts, and Trimax Mowing Systems – coordinated by Advancing Manufacturing Aotearoa.
September 2024 – New Zealand Aerospace Summit (NZAS) in Christchurch
- NZ’s largest aerospace conference, bringing together industry pioneers, researchers, and innovators to explore the latest advancements, emerging trends, cutting-edge research, and groundbreaking opportunities for collaboration.
As aerospace is one of our top industries, we were keen to be part of the Aerospace New Zealand summit, both as a Gold Sponsor and Exhibitor, and our CEO Warwick Downing involved as a NZAS Summit Speaker, premiered a video showcase of RAM3D’s metal 3D printing work in the space sector:
What’s Next in 2025?
- RAM3D is returning to SAT Show this March in Washington DC, followed by a new event for us on the schedule – the Avalon Airshow at the end of March, with RAM3D taking part in a New Zealand delegation of exhibitors / attendees.
- EMEX runs every other year in May, alternating years with its South Island counterpart SouthMACH. Instead of SouthMACH this year, however, RAM3D is returning to Australian Manufacturing Week (AMW), collaborating with another innovative Kiwi business, United Machinists, offering precision machining and manufacturing expertise – visit us in Melbourne in May at AMW Booth # AM465.
- Wrapping up the year with aerospace in Australasia, RAM3D intends to participate again at the IAC (the 2025 event being hosted ‘closer to home’ in Sydney, Australia), and will be returning as a sponsor again this year to NZAS in October, as an official adjacent event to IAC Sydney.
Certainly there will be more updates to the workshop and plenty of parts being printed* – but additionally, keep an eye out for a design contest that we will be launching (check back here in May) to tie in with our EMEX plans for 2026.
